CHRIST IN US, OUR HOPE OF GLORY

Carnival Glory

This past week, we went to Halifax, Nova Scotia on the Carnival Glory cruise ship to uplift Christ in us, our hope of Glory for our God is a Brown Girl Too retreat.

God is a Brown Girl Too is a testament that we are more than the physical; we are also the shipSpirit.  Paul realized this when he said to the people of Colossae ” Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27 NIV).  Jesus Christ says this differently in John 10:34 when he says “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are gods’?'”

God is a Brown Girl Too, a book where God speaks to black women as themselves, says “when you know that I am you and you are me, you will begin to realize who God is.”

Oneness betterChrist in me is glory; Christ in me is power; Christ in me is commitment; Christ in me is love; Gathering for Morning Prayer Aboard the Ship Christ in me is energy that defies the appearances of limitations.

Last week, while we were embraced by the bosom of the ocean and lifted by the infinity of the sky, we remembered to breathe the sacred breath of oneness.  We celebrated God expressing as us.  We reinforced the truth that Spirit lives in us.

???????????????????????????????

As our Master Teacher Jesus Christ taught us in John 14:20, one day “you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”I AM

Christ in me is transformation.  Christ in me is illumination.  Christ in me is demonstration.  Christ in me is co-creation.  Christ in me is determination.  Christ in me is celebration.  Christ in me is restoration of all my good returning swiftly to reward me.

On the Carnival Glory, we visited the Kingdom of God, united in the consciousness that God is everywhereSabrina and Kia present.

We stop closing the doors to the divine and re-opened the absolute good that is everywhere present.

We stopped worrying about we shall eat and what we shall where and we sought God first, fullyIn the womb of discourse internalizing what Jesus taught in Luke 17:21, when he says “nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.”

The kingdom of God is within us.Walking in the Spirit Lia and Pam

Christ in me is unlimited supply.

Christ in me is divine ideas.

Christ in me is amazing peace, and harmony, and commitment, and discipline, and accomplishment.

I AM beauty

We were not wary or apprehensive of Carnival’s recent press because we blessed every crack and crevice aboard the ship.

We blessed the crew and the captain and every passenger who ever boardedRev Loving leading the session and will board the ship.

We blessed the entire ocean and realized that our sacred circle was comprised of universes greater than we who we are in the flesh.

We releasedNot only did we get a great price for our journey but we had a wonderful time and terrific service.  The Glory The ship and the city greatwas a floating paradise, another dimension, a divine vibration illuminating in the arms of God.

PatienceWe meditated in the Christ in us.  We prayed in the Christ in us.  We blessed the sacred waters as they restored our strength, our light, our love, and our vision.

We were baptized in the holy communion of fellowship in Christ Consciousness.

I have no theology, I dance Pam and PamWe left our sins at the altar of deliverance.

As Paul said in Romans 7:4-6, we “died to the law through the body of Christ, that [w]e might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.  For when we were in the realm of the flesh, I am a Woman of High Faiththe sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death.  But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit.”

We pray as oneWe released the sin of fear, the sin of remorse, the sin of lust, the sin of doubt, the sin of despair, the sin of hopelessness, the sin of ignorance – and we put on our Christ selves.

We re-connected with who we are and remembered why we are here in the first place.

As Paul teaches in Romans 8:9, we are not controlled by theWe gather Sabrina et al sin but by the Spirit because the Spirit of God lives in us.

TEN WAYS TO SEIZE THE POWER OF THE PRESENT MOMENT

118

Last night, we broke bread with friends as we talked about the importance of enjoying every moment of life.  We talked about those who have gone before us and the possibility that when the great beyond summons us, we must go – no matter where we are.  But we also talked about not contributing to the summons by making poor choices that lead to gout, diabetes, kidney failure, heart attacks, and so many other diseases that we can eliminate by making good choices.  Even after we try and fail, each new moment gives us the divine opportunity to be better, live better and listen to Spirit.  If we really listen, we hear the grace that forgives us for what we didn’t do and frees us to seize the power of the present moment.  I listened, and the Holy Spirit gave me the following ten ways to seize the power of the present moment.

SAY “I AM.   One of the best ways to get centered in the consciousness of Spirit is to affirm the absolute power of your being in the I AM.  God told Moses “I AM Who I AM.”  The “I I AM 5AM” is our true identity, the restorative, healing power of God.  Whatever we add to, we give energy, strength and power to – so be careful that you imbue and infuse I AM with what you desire to see take place.  But the most pristine form of giving God praise and acknowledging God’s blessings as you is just to say “I AM.”

great 7BREATHE.  I know that you think you are breathing, but you are probably holding your breath more than you realize and not taking an opportunity to enjoy the breath of life and to allow the anointing of its divine energy to bless you.  Take three long inhalations and exhalations and with each one think of nothing but the breath of life breathing you.  Breathing is the most restorative, re-creative, healing medicine we can take.

THANK GOD.  Whenever we thank God, we open up the floodgates to allow our blessings to pour.  Not only do we reap what we sow, but Jesus said that we will be allowed to reap what we have not worked for.  When we thank God for our blessings, we begin the process of moving ourselves out of the way so that our good can manifest.kingdom 11

Haiti children 6CALL YOUR PARENTS.  We must honor those who have given us life and have dedicated their lives to make sure we enjoy it.  It doesn’t have to be a long conversation – just long enough to say “I love you, and I thank you.”  If your parents are not alive, call the person who is an elder who has blessed you and helped you and served as a surrogate parent.  If there is no one like that in your life, make friends with an elder.  They will make you remember to seize the power of the present moment.  If you are angry with your parents – or even those who have served as surrogate parents, now is the time to re-connect with them.

FORGIVE YOUR ENEMIES.  Forgiveness is not for your enemies or whoever you harbor resentment against; forgiveness is for you.  You have the power to reclaim here and now the energy that you have been giving kingdom 3away to other people – by complaining about them, resenting them, refusing to acknowledge them, and perhaps even hating them.  Forgive them here and now.  There is no time better than the present to let go, release, and surrender to the prospering power of peace.  This is not the same thing as repeating mistakes, but it is forgiving ourselves from making them and blessing whoever was involved in them so that we can move forward in our lives.

kingdom 4ASK, BELIEVE AND RECEIVE.  Asking, believing and receiving is pure energy.  This is the vibration that knows what we want, believes that the universe will provide it, opens our hearts to receive it.  God’s will always fills the present moment.  Our desires – as long as they are not hurtful or harmful to anyone – are God’s will because it is in our soul to demonstrate them.  All we have to do is ask the universe and we are instantly blessed by our desires.  Our desires do not only bless us, they bless others too.

DRINK WATER.  Water is the energy of life.  We owe it to our bodies to replenish its source and to fill our muscles with its strength.  If we bless our water before we drink it, we fill it with the nourishing, cleansing, healing restorative power that it will give our bodies.  If we want to lose weight, we must drink water because that is the only way that excess fat is removed from our bodies.  If we want clear skin, we must drink water.  If we want greater energy, we must drink water.  Water cannot be replaced by coffee, tea, soda, wine, or juice.  Drink your water in each sacred moment that you remember.great 4

ownership 6BE HONEST.  Honesty heals all wounds, all disease, all fear.  When we are honest, we don’t worry about what we shall eat.  We don’t overeat.  We don’t eat foods that are poisonous to our bodies.  We don’t abuse substances or do anything that would not allow our temples of the living God to flourish.  We must move our bodies each day to make them stronger.  We have to work hard but also rest.

LOVE.  There is no greater power than love.  Love heals all wounds.  Love prospers all lives.  Love climbs all mountains.  Loves lifts us up where we belong – as the song says.  If we can take one moment each day and love, we will begin the process of healing the entire planet.  All we have to do is send forth the energy of love and allow it to move through us as us.  All we have to do is love.  When we love, we allow the ultimate reality of our being to take place – that is we move out of God’s way and allow God to express God’s love as us.

CREATE.  God didn’t create the universe in seven days and then stop.  God continues to create the universe in and as us.  We are sometimes afraid to create, afraid to push beyond our comfort zones, afraid to taste the begin 11sweetness of being who we truly are, afraid to take the bull by the horns, afraid to defy convention by stepping outside what is expected of us – or that we expect of ourselves – to do and to be the extraordinary beings that we are.  Creativity allows us to enter the vortex of inexhaustible supply and be used by the universe in a new way.  “In this moment, I AM . . . .”  Now is the time for you to finish the sentence.

100 Reasons Why You Should Celebrate God As Yourself

GBGII CoverIn the book GOD IS A BROWN GIRL TOO, I explain why we should listen to the divine within. It’s the first time God speaks to us as ourselves and not someone who we can’t relate to. I’ve been over these reasons for uplifting the God in you before, but Spirit tells me that it’s time to share them again. It doesn’t matter who you are — or what your sexual orientation is — or your race and ethnicity: the divine is celebrating you. We will continue to lift up this consciousness on our 2013 HOPE OF GLORY CRUISE, leaving from NYC on July 29 to sail to Nova Scotia. I hope you can join us. THE BEGINNING AND END OF YOUR LOVE STORY by Cecilia B. Loving

Marlon and CeciliaMarlon and I are huge romantics.Dady'd little girls
We enjoy every love story.
We have probably memorized the script to Pride and Prejudice.
We are huge fans of Masterpiece Theater, especially the award-winning Downton Abbey series:
we couldn’t wait for Mr. Bates to join his beloved Anna.
We have enjoyed Enchanted April countless times and have seen it on stage and screen.
If Love Jones or Princess Bride is on, there’s no getting Marlon to budge;
if Daddy’s Little Girls or Love Holiday is on, there’s no getting me to budge.
The red roses, the Godivas (especially those chocolate-covered Oreos)
and the Cupcake Prosecco are plentiful.
Love HolidayLove JonesBut we both realize that the beginning and end of our love story
is not about romance.

Love is Spirit.
Whether in life or death, love is the eternal energy
that connects us, draws us, manifests us, and expresses as us forever.

Enchanted AprilLove never fails.  Love is not merely flesh but is the most powerful energy there is.  There is a reason why the Biblical witness John wrote in hisPride and Prejudice letters that love never fails because love is God.

1 John 1:5 says “God is light”: a light that purifies us – as love does – from all sins.

This is not worldly love, as 1 John 2:15 indicates, not lust of the flesh or egotistical pride but the eternal love of Spirit.  This is not a fleeting love, a seasonal love – or a love that dissolves or fades like the petals of a rose or melts like chocolates – but a love never, ever changes.  We are love 36required to love – not with words or speech but with action and truth (1 John 3:18).

Love never fails because “love comes from God” (1 John 4:7).  As John says, “[w]hoever does not know love does not know God” because God is not an engagement or a boyfriend or a girlfriend or a date or a promise or a marriage or a desire – God is the divine in us, the truth as us, the infinite, love 34 inexhaustible good in us.  “God is love” (1 John 4:8), a love that can never ever fail.

We don’t need to love for love because love is here – living in us (1 John 4:12).

“There is no fear in love,” no hatred, no jealousy, no anger, no resentment, no despair, no failure because perfect love – the love of Spirit – cannot, does not and will not fail.

love 47No matter what challenge you have before you, love will take care of it.  No matter what you perceive as the enemy, love will remove it.  No matter what you fear, love will turn it on its head and make it serve – rather than harm you, protect rather than hurt you, prosper rather than rob you.

Love will turn bitterness into support.  Love will turn catastrophe into success.  Love will turn the enemies into friends.  Love will wrap you in a love 38circle of power so protective that those who thought they meant you no good will succumb to your greatness or distance themselves so completely they no longer remember who you are.

No matter what the situation, what the circumstance, what the complication, love will heal you, love will lift you, love will love 46shield you, love will guide you, love will direct you, love will strengthen you, love will feed you, love will completely re-order your affairs because love cannot and will not fail.

As I say in the book God is a Brown Girl Too, on page 44, “You are the beginning and end of your love story”: a story that will bless you, heal you, prosper you, and never, ever fail.

DON’T FORGET TO REGISTER

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS WEEK, THIS DAY, THIS MOMENT — THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT

During this Lenten Season, we often talk about what we are going to sacrifice — the chocolates that we are going to give up; the alcohol that we are going to refrain from drinking; the something — anything in the material world that we are going to deprive ourselves of in order to establish our connection to God. But the only thing that we really have to do in order to practice the presence of the divine in our lives is what Jesus taught us, and that is to seek first the Kingdom of God. When we get still — even for a moment and re-connect with the loving energy of the Holy Spirit, everything else falls into place. We attain the serenity, peace, harmony, focus, and renewal that we need to be our best.

Once again, we will slow down and listen to the divine within at the GOD IS A BROWN GIRL TOO Retreat at the Mariandale Retreat Center in Ossining, New York, during the weekend of April 20-22. This year’s theme is TELL A NEW STORY and focuses on how we can go within, listen to what God tells us to do, and re-create ourselves. THIS WEEK IS THE ONLY WEEK THAT YOU CAN ATTEND THE RETREAT FOR HALF PRICE: $225 per person for the entire weekend. This Saturday, March 3, the price will go up again. To register and learn more about the retreat schedule, go to www.godisabrowngirltoo.webs.com. For this week only, there is a PayPal link for this special price. You can also purchase the God is a Brown Girl Too book on the website and begin the journey of finding the Kingdom of God in yourself.

In the interim, join SPIRITMUV every Sunday, at 2:30 PM, at the Unity Center of NYC, located at 213 W. 58th Street, near Columbus Circle.

PUT GOD IN YOUR DIET

Put God in YOur Diet OneThis is the time of year when we reap what we sow during the festive holiday season, and we rely on New Year’s Resolutions – with a firm resolve – to get back on track. For many of us, getting back on track means shedding unwanted pounds.  But this is one year that I’m not worried about weight because months ago, I put God in my diet.

Prayer TwoIf you want something delicious, calorie-free and certain to reduce unwanted inches, try God. God is guaranteed to get results, guard against any excessive indulgence and give you favor for the process. The right people will show up to help you reach your fitness goals; the right opportunities will manifest for your magnificence; the yoga 3right methodology to keep you motivated will reveal itself; and the right decisions that you need to make to stay spiritually fit will guide you to success.

God only requires a one-day-at-a-time plan. All you have to do is put one foot before the other with prayerful purpose, and the sheer gravity of Spirit will pull you in the right direction.  When you awaken, acknowledge with Put God in Your Diet Threeyour heart that God is in every breath that you take. Stretch with the magnificence of God in your limbs. Rise with the boldness and conviction of God in your thoughts.  Move with the passion of God in your purpose to be your best in your new day.

Have you ever observed animals and birds when they awaken? They stretch. They flex and bend their bodies because they have a constant diet of God in their lives. They know what to do. Birds, running twoeven the pigeons – who are jaded New York streetwalkers – take to the air in unison for their morning flight relays. I love to see them circling the air as I make my way to the gym.

Maybe like my husband Marlon, you prefer to ride your bike.  Maybe like my brother Chris, you prefer to walk. Maybe like me, you prefer to lift weights. Maybe like my friend Vaughn, you prefer to run. Maybe like my friend Kelly, you prefer to practice yoga. Maybe like my friend Mary, you prefer the elliptical machine.  It all counts. NYSC

If you don’t have a gym or a fitness class and you’re in the New York area, contact my friend Priscilla Upshaw-Wimbly at the New York Sports Club (718-643-4400).   She will sign you up with a good fitness deal and expedite the Universe’s conspiracy to help you obtain your goals. (Tell her that I sent you.)

Put God in Your Diet FivePutting God in your diet is about as simple as drinking water. Jesus said I will give you living water. Water is the most essential life-sustaining beauty treatment there is.  If your urine is dark or you feel faint, you are not listening when Spirit tells you to drink enough water!

Put God in Your DietPutting God in your diet demands that you bless your food and be mindful in eating. You’d be surprised how small your stomach is: about two palms full. Mindful eating conditions us to listen to our bellies telling us that they are full or near full. As you bless your food, envision the body that you desire, see that ripped six-pack, see those healthy knees running and jumping like never before, see those flexible limbs.

Put God in YOur Diet SixPutting God in your diet is not about wearing yourself ragged, it’s about rest, rejuvenation and revelation. Rest will give us the rejuvenation that supplies the energy to achieve our fitness goals. Rejuvenation will give us the revelations that will show us how to form and shape our workout plans, eating habits, and fitness goals.  Revelations will keep us focused on the upward prize – of which physical fitness is just one aspect.

MARIANDALE 4Putting God in your diet requires that you listen to what God is telling you.  Listening to Spirit is your most important meal of the day. God is always speaking, but we seldom take the time to be still and know what God is saying.  We have to listen throughout the day: during our morning meditation, while we are journaling, in our prayers, through our study of truth, by our good Prayer Threedeeds done with compassion for others. (For more on how to do this, see my book Prayers for Those Standing on the Edge of Greatness on Amazon.)

Putting God in your diet demands that you maximize your potential beyond the mere festive mood of celebrating the new year.  You see, the real party – the one that you don’t want to miss – is the one with Jesus Christ, who is here in our consciousness; with the Holy Spirit, who is here as our guide; and with God, who is here in every single morsel of life that we partake.

Join us on New Year’s Day as we put God in our diets through our series on “Christ Consciousness:  Seven Lessons for Living According to the Christ Within.”  This Sunday, we will celebrate “Being Our Best.”

Namaste,

THE FATHER IN US By Cecilia B. Loving

In the book, God is a Brown Girl Too, the Father speaks in and as the Brown Girl.

Listen as God speaks through a black woman:

The Psalmist says, “the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” How many times have you read that passage from the 23rd Psalm and never paid attention to its meaning? This single line is one of the most powerful affirmations that there is. It means that I am your Shepherd. It means that the divine vibrations that I express as you, the indwelling Christ consciousness in which you are reborn, the Holy Spirit — which lives in you, guides you, comforts you, and teaches you, is your Shepherd. It means that I am always present, always constant, always watching over you, always making sure that you are protected, that you are fed, that no danger or harm comes near you. But most importantly, it means that because you live and move and have your being in infinite source, you have everything that you need. It means that there is no limit to my good.

I am always blessing you, always watching over you, always embracing you, always empowering you. You need to learn to see beyond your physical eyes. I am the substance, the catalyst, the creativity from which all life springs and all ideas evolve. You cannot even begin to imagine my greatness and the abundance of my Kingdom that is always available to you.

I am greater than miracles. I am greater than desire. Your difficulties arise when you believe that you are separate from the power that I give you. Pray with me. Meditate with me. Sit with me. And I will bless you with the opportunities that you need, the people who will help you, and the divine ideas that will bless you.

I am your Shepherd, providing you with the ability to create good for not only yourself but to be a constant blessing, inspiration, and resource to others. Spirit is always leading you to the pasture of opportunity. . . if you listen.

If you need a teacher, I am there. If you need a client, I will send them. If you need an answer, I will give it. If you need discernment, I will shepherd you through what you need to do. No matter what you are up against, no matter what the appearances look like, no matter what the threat — it better beware because I am with you: the Good Shepherd, the Infinite Power, the Almighty, the One who says that the battle is mine, the One who says touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm, the One who teaches that all you have to do is believe.

Your weapon is your faith. I have a rod and a staff that you can lean on: the right person who just shows up and says, I will do this for you, the closed sign doors that just open, the towering wall that is removed, the difficult passage that opens a way out of no way.

I will bless you from the top of your heads to the bottom of your feet. The good will flow to you from so many different directions that you cannot even begin to imagine what will be in store for you.

The highways and the byways will just pour, rain down blessings on you because — as the song goes — your “God is a good God!”

When we realize that the Father is in us, we know that we have everything we need.

SEE WITH A NEW LIGHT By Cecilia Loving

This is an excerpt from the book GOD IS A BROWN GIRL TOO, available on the God is a Brown Girl Too website, Amazon and wherever books are sold.

Here God speaks as a black woman — Listen!

She sings melodies from psalms
only she can hum,
Galilee on her tongue.
speaking from that city on a hill,
singing “this ‘lil light of mine —
I’m gon’ let it shine.”

Many of you have been telling the same stories for so long that you no longer know truth from fiction.  By that I mean, you have no idea who you really are versus the you were in the past.  The “you” who has been hurt, abused, neglected, rejected, or condemned has been given a starring role in your life story, while  you have taken a back seat.  You will never be able to see me, if you keep holding up the past to impair your vision of all who you are.   The only way you are going to see me reflected in your image and likeness is to tell a new story.  Throw away the mess you’ve been wading in forever and start looking at yourself with a new light.

You are not who you were yesterday.   Let me say that again, the you who just opened this book is not the “you” who did all of the things that you believe held you back from accomplishing your goals.  You are different;  you are reborn; you are free.  Begin to see yourself with a new light.

Read the Book of Matthew, Chapter 6, Verse 22.  It says that “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”  It is providing you with a new vision for seeing all of the circumstances and people that I have placed before you in this life.  The things in the flesh are around you but they are not of you.  I am the only thing that matters.  Look only to me.  Seek first my kingdom.  Wait upon me.

If you see with a new light, you will know that I am in the midst of everything and everyone, and you will be able to discern my presence.  But you can’t have it both ways.  You can’t see me half the time and get stuck in a rut the other time.  Your eye must be single and focused on me.  Otherwise, you will multiply your errors, lose your perspective, and do foolish things.  You will say what you later regret.  You will waste time that could have been well spent in a more focused, productive, enjoyable fashion.  You will act out of negative emotions rather than with confidence and purpose.

When you fail to keep your focus on Spirit, you will find yourselves like that beggar on the roadside — blinded by your lack of faith.  Remember what Jesus told the blind man?  Jesus said your faith has made you whole.  The blind man’s faith in me had made him see.  If your eye is single, your whole body shall be full of light.  But if you are not centered in my light, your direction, your intuition, our divine compass will be off, and you will find yourselves stumbling in the darkness.  Without my light, it’s difficult to recreate a new story for yourself because you cannot see who you really are.

Spirit is the light that unifies you in consciousness and centers you in peace, clarity, creativity, joy and abundance.  Only when you are centered in me do you realize your oneness with the entire universe.  If you achieve this going forward, you will not be limited the way that you were in the past.  You will realize that the heartache or the pain that you experienced can be released and you can stop re-living it again and begin to recreate who you want to be rather than who you used to be.

One way of centering in my presence is through the third eye, which can be accessed by focusing on the center of your forehead.  The pineal gland — located in the brain behind the eyes — is said to be the physical entry of spiritual enlightenment, and through that illumination, it is also known as the gateway to faith.  It is the home of higher consciousness, healing power, and psychic perception.  Some say that this is the place where you see God face-to-face.  When you practice looking deeply into your third eye, you will behold my light emanating from infinite source, what many of you call a cosmic vibration.  When you are centered in this divine light, you can be even more open to my presence — beyond words and thoughts.  When you focus your spiritual eye, your inner eye, your third eye on my presence, your entire being — mind, body and soul — will be filled with light.  This is the energy and the concentration that will also build and develop your faith — so that you don’t have to spend a long period in tapping in or tuning in to me.

In our connection, you will feel the super-consciousness of absolute good and trust that whatever you ask for has already manifested.  With a single eye directed to divine source, you will be catapulted beyond asking to believing that whatever you ask for, you receive.  You will be able to walk by faith in me, which is more important than mere physical sight.

WHAT ARE YOU CALLING YOURSELF?

The rise of negative name-calling – not only in reference to other people but also to ourselves – made me raise a question that should be considered by everyone: what are you calling yourself?  So often we use words and phrases that are popular without considering what they mean.  How many people really internalize what they mean when they scream “I’m not worthy”?  Why does a woman who strives to be strong and independent call herself a “B-“?  Can ABC really succeed with a television show called “Good Christian B—s”?How can Kim, the blond housewife of Atlanta, call her assistant “b–h” – and even more questionable, how can the twenty-something black nanny/personal secretary answer such a call – without  protest?  What we are calling others is a reflection of what we call ourselves.  Profanity and phrases like “poor thing” and “poor me” are equally offensive.  We raise a ruckus over taking God‘s name in vain, but aren’t we temples of a living God?

We may not use the b-word, but we still blaspheme the kingdom of God within us if we call ourselves or our sisters and brothers less than what God is.   We still blaspheme the divine within if we undermine the unlimited power of God or fail to embrace Spirit’s inexhaustible supply.  Since we are the image and likeness of God everywhere present, we need to be careful about what we say about ourselves, as well as other people.  What name-calling ultimately boils down to is what we are affirming about the power in us.

In Luke 12:32, Jesus said, “It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.”  But have your words provided the opening for your consciousness to receive the kingdom?  Have you used words to decree God’s good in every crack and crevice of your  life?  Or have you used nay-saying, negativity and nastiness to deny the existence of Absolute Good?  Are you speaking words that undermine or uplift your greatness?  Are you taking your divinity in vain?

Jesus says in Matthew 12:36 that you shall give an account on judgment day for every careless word that you utter.  But when is Judgment Day?  It’s every day.  It’s the period of reaping what you sow in thought, word and deed.  You do that every day.  Every day you choose whether to embrace a vibration of love or hatred.  Whatever you speak, you decree. If you talk about being poor, then you wallow in the energy of poverty; you decree it.  If you focus about illness, you create a connection to sickness – and inevitably, you decree it.  If you linger in the toxic vibrations of bad relationships, you give them life through your decree.  If you get stuck in the pity party of insecurity, loneliness or lack, you decree them in every word that you speak about them.

God is a Brown Girl Too decrees power.  It’s one of those books that are courageous enough to refute negativity and strife toshift the paradigm with a new story.  It dares new seeds to be planted in the vortex of unlimited possibility.   God speaks, saying “Quit pretending that you are less than your true worth.  Quit trying to play the universe with false bravado.  .  .  .  Now is the time for your own magic .  .  .  .  [I] did not give [you] a spirit of timidity or fear; but a spirit of power .  .  .  .  The sooner you recognize your power, the sooner you accomplish your goals, the sooner you step up to the plate and do what you were called here in this lifetime to do [and] make this world a better place.”

God says “There is power in your words.  Everyday declare what you want in your life.  Wake up and declare it.  Go to bed and declare it.  Stand up in your office and declare it.  Look out your window and declare it.  Walk down the street and declare it.  Your words are where you take responsibility for what you want to see manifest in your life .  .  .  .  [W]ords are fertile; they contain the essence of life – [I] travel through the breath of each spoken word.  The aborigines would say the tongue of Great Spirit resides in all things  .  .  .  . Power is your ability to celebrate who you are and what contribution you can make to this beautiful existence that you call life.  It gives you the honor to take charge of you.”

But you must be inventive enough to tell your truth – a truth that exudes love rather than fearful name-calling – a truth that praises rather than condemns, a truth that knows fortitude rather than failure, a truth that realizes victory rather than defeat, a truth that exudes courage rather than caution.

God says “Only those who do not know the truth would call themselves or any of my sons and daughters less than who they are.  I have given you the power that you need.  When you stand on my shoulders, your spiritual roots will reach down to the belly of the earth – without stopping there.Speak from the depths of your soul with boldness and conviction.  Reveal your awesome beauty.  Listen to what you are calling yourself.”
